There is a proverb: ‘History
repeats itself’. This proverb is well known and often quoted by,
intellectuals, but nobody has ever taken any lesson from it while it’s
message is quite vivid i.e. don’t repeat those follies or blunders,
which you have committed in the past, in order to make your not only
present but future also, bright, prosperous and safe. But we find that
this proverb remains just a quotable quote not to be acted upon. That is
why we suffered again and again in the past and still suffer every day.In spite of this we appear to be adamant not to deviate from the wrong path that we had once chosen and continue to tread the same till now. Does it not indicate that we are not wise enough, and perhaps have lost our inherent power to discriminate between right and wrong, good and bad, harmful and benificial? If it is not so then why are we shy of facing the facts standing erect before our eyes.
In this background let us peep into our history. This sacred land of our’s was first attacked by the army of Darius (Ist), the mighty emperor of Iran, then known as ‘Parasya Desh’, on our ‘Balaksha Pradesh’ (Baluchistan) border (now in Pakistan). But what happened to the invader? He was given a smashing defeat and it was so complete that only seven soldiers were left to tell that very tragic defeat to their emperor, and the defeat was so crushing and awful that the so powerful Emperor of Persia like Darius (Ist.) dared not to attack again. But what a pity, we are taught that the first invader was Alexander, the so-called ‘The Great’.
Then came Alexander, but he didn’t enter Bharat through Bolan Pass of Baluchistan. Perhaps he was aware of the defeat of Darius (Ist) on that front. So after defeating Darius (2nd) and occupying Persia, he captured Gandhar, the present day Afghanistan and entered Bharat through Khyber Pass. First he had to taste the bravery of Ashvakas, and after defeating them by deceit and terrorising Ambhi, the king of Takshashila (now Taxila), he crossed his kingdom and reached the shore of Vitasta, the present day Jhelam river, and had to face Puru, the warrior king. Puru gave such a tuff fight to Alexander that his army was frightened to such an extent that it refused to proceed further due to future fear of the great army of Magadh Empire. In spite of all the encouragement, threatenings and allurements, Greek soldiers could not be subdued and continued to insist for going back to their motherland. Ultimately Alexander had to bowdown, and conceded the demand of his soldiers. His army went back by land but he chose for himself the river-route of Indus (present day Sindh). In midway he had to face the brave Kathas, Malavs and Kshudrakas who gave him such fatal wounds that he could not reach his kingdom back and died in today’s Iraq. We should remember here that under the guidance of his Guru Chanakya, Chandragupta Maurya took back Herat and Gandhar from the Greak king Seleucus of Bactria, present day middle-east Asia.
Next comes the invasion of Shakas under the instigation and guidance of one Kalakacharya, a Jain monk, whose beautiful sister Saraswati was forcibly kidnapped and made his queen by the then king of Ujjayini, Gandharvasen or Gardbhilla. Gandharvasen was killed in the battle. Thus Aacharya Kalak took his revenge. But Shakas could not stay on and they were badly beaten by Vikramaditya, the son of Gandharvasen, and were chased beyond the shore of river Vankshu, the present day Dariya-ye-Aamu. After about one and a half century Shakas again tried but their fate was doomed and they were again given such a good beating at the hands of Shalivahan, the grandson of Vikramaditya that their fate was sealed for ever. This defeat of Shakas was so crushing that no foreign invader dared to attack Bharat for more than 400 years. Next to attack Bharat were Huns who were so ferocious invaders that even Europe used to shiver from their atrocities, but they were also beaten back by Skandgupta and Yashodharman.
No foreign invader took the risk to invade Bharat till 712 AD when Mohd. Bin Qasim attacked Sindh and defeated the brave king Dahirsen by sabotage. His queen then took the charge but she was also defeated and killed. Surya Devi and Parimal Devi the two daughters of Dahirsen took revenge of their father and got Mohd Bin Qasim killed. Struggle shown by these two sisters aroused such a revolution that Sindh was liberated by Sindhis themselves and as per the provisions of Deval Smriti, they brought their Sindhi brothers, who were forcibly converted to Islam, back to the religion of their forefathers.
Meanwhile, there appeared a great warrior, named Kalbhoj, who is famous in our history as Bapa Raval, the founder of Gahlot or Sisodiya dynasty of Maharanas of Mewar. He launched his crusade against invading forces of our frontiers from Baluchistan to Khyber Pass, and compelled them to surrender. The flash of his sword was so frightening that he even defeated the Muslim ruler of Iran and got his princess married to the victor. Today’s Afridies and Vaziries are said to be the progeny of that great Bapa Raval of Chittorgarh whose family deity is Eklingji Mahadev. It was the very effect of his victories over Islamic forces that they didn’t invade Bharat for nearly three hundred years.
It was Mahmud Ghaznavi whose fierce invasion on Bharat paved the way for such further attacks like those of Mohd Ghori, Timur ‘The Lame’, Babar, Nadir Shah and Ahmed Shah Abdali one after another intermittently. Their progenies established their rule over several parts of our country. We fought them fiercely, faced them boldly on about all fronts and also defeated them several times. But for want of farsighted leadership we lost battles after battles and didn’t try to get the land back which was forcibly snatched away from our forefathers. We see only few examples when we got rid of this psyche and successfully liberated our land back. One such example is as that of the establishing of Vijaynagar Empire within 20 years of the demise of the Khilji rule by Hakka and Bukka under the auspices and direction of Madhvacharya later called Swami Vidyaranya, Shankaracharya of Shringeri Peeth. But soon after we forgot that and even during the regime of Krishnadev Raya, he did not care to merge Bahmani states such as Bijapur, Ahmadnagar in his empire though he defeated them again and again. Ram Raya also committed the same blunder for which not only he himself but Vijaynagar also paid very heavily. The ruins of Hampi still cryingly tell us not to commit such a blunders again, but who listens!
Another example is of Maharana Kumbhakarana (Kumbha) of Mewar. Bahadur Shah, the then Sultan of Gujarat attacked Mewar but he was defeated by Kumbha. Later the then Sultan of Malava Mahmud attacked Mewar and he was also defeated by the Maharana. Later on both the Sultans of Gujarat and Malava jointly attacked Mewar and were badly defeated by the Maharana, Bahadur Shah ran away to his kingdom and Mahmud was arrested in a badly wounded condition. But see the beauty, Maharana Kumbha entertained him as his royal guest and treated him well and when fully cured was honourably sent back to his capital. Maharana could not think even for a moment to liberate Gujarat and Malava from the clutches of those vultures. Other Maharanas of Mewar had to face the invasons of Babar and Akbar, but they could not succeed in spite of their supreme sacrifices. Maharana Raj Singh once had the golden opportunity to arrest Aurangzeb and annihilate him, but he also didn’t execute the plan.
Only Shivaji a brave Maratha and a patriot, under the auspices of Samarth Swami Ram Das and the training and guidance of his political guardian Dadaji Kondev and mother Jija Bai attained supreme success against all odds and gave defeat after defeat to Sultan Aadil Shah of Bijapur and the most atrocious and cunning Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. He proved Svayamev Mrigendrata and established an empire in the South upto Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. His vision was very vast and aim was to liberate the entire Bharat from the Islamic rule. Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundela and Guru Govind Singh were very much inspired from him and they ignited the fire of freedom just under the nose of Aurangzeb and later his son Bahadur Shah. Such was the influence of their ire that Moghul Empire fell down and saffron flag was flown from Attock to Cuttak by Maratha forces of the Peshwa. But it was sad enough that Peshwas forgot to the liberate the land occupied by Muslim rulers like Nizam and Tipu Sultan and just extorted a lump sum amount from them as fine and areas like Bidar and Barar were taken from them. This folly of theirs proved fatal in the future. Similarly, other Hindu victorious rulers failed time and again due to lack of vision and advice of great visionaries like Swami Vidyaranya, Samarth Swami Ram Das and Swami Pran Nath. Most of them were either suffering from Prithviraj syndrome or were captive of their own ego.
Now come to the freedom movement launched by the so-called ‘Indian National Congress’ founded by AO Hume a fugitive Collector of Etawa in 1957 under the garb of a Muslim lady. It was quite well-known that a seed sown by a Britisher would never give sweet fruits. So ultimately we were openly deceived by our so-called leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. They hatched a conspiracy with the British Governor General and silently admitted the vivisection of our venerable Bharatmata and conceded Pakistan to Jinnah. This was a grand victory of Islam over Bharat. May God save every nation of the world from such a national leadership where so-called nationalist leaders surrender before a foreigner. The fate of this eternal Hindu nation was sealed on that Black Day of August 15, 1947 when tricolour was hoisted on Red Fort at Delhi by sinful and bloodstained hands of our first Prime Minister imposed by Gandhi ‘The Mahatma’. Even after that blood soaked Partition, we learnt nothing and are still continuing the same suicidal policy of Muslim appeasement which first established an Islamic state and is now busy in creating problem after problem under the auspices of a lady of foreign origin and that too belonging to a fascist family.
In view of the above mentioned few facts let us start learning from our past blunders and present follies just to negate the proverb that ‘history repeats itself’ and prove that we are still a Hindu nation very much alive and kicking and by learning lesson from history we will give a crushing defeat to every anti-national force again. May God bless us with this faculty and we are sure, He will not prove Himself at miser.
